Implant Retained Dentures

We can provide implant retained dentures as an alternative to more traditional dentures.

What is the difference between implant retained dentures and traditional dentures?

The most significant difference between implant retained dentures and traditional dentures is that the latter are held in place by a bonding agent. Implant retained dentures, on the other hand, are fixed or clipped in place via implants in the jawbone.

Many patients find implant retained dentures more comfortable than traditional dentures, as there is no danger of them slipping out of place or coming loose. They can also help minimise bone loss and changes to the facial structure which can happen over time.

What does getting implant retained dentures involve?

Implant retained dentures have to be affixed to the jaw and the whole process can take between four and seven months. This is because the bone is fusing with the implants. During this time, you can either continue to wear your existing dentures or we can provide you with a temporary pair.

How long do implant retained dentures last?

The implants should last up to 15 years, while dentures tend to last for around seven years. You should continue to care for your dentures in much the same way as you would traditional dentures.

I have recently been for my one year review on my dental implants that I had done at Hatfield dental care, I had two front dental implants, after shopping around I trusted this dental surgery & felt Asfar did not try to force other treatments on me that I did not need like other dentists did, I am so happy with them they look and feel like my real teeth and thats all I ever wanted after my accident causing loss of my front teeth, my implant surgery was no quick fix it started from my bone grafting to the final crown over many months all pain free and any questions or worries was dealt with asap which I appreciate, best money I have ever spent!
